What is the difference between Firefox and FirefoxESR?

I do not know what the difference between Firefox and FirefoxESR. I do not know which is better as I emphasize security and privacy. Which one is better?

  • Firefox: “normal” Firefox for everyday use
  • Firefox ESR: Extended Support Release for companies and organizations (gets mostly security updates)

However, FF ESR is directly based on Firefox. No one is better and the theory that ESR must be better due to less frequent feature updates is a myth (just look at security advisories).
