Privacy Principles

Please kindly share your principles, mindset, thought, standpoint, or opinion about privacy.
It could be our original / not original thought, as long as it is something we believe on.
But please not something possibly sensitive or offending.

For example, it is about E2EE cloud storage:

Privacy service and Trust don’t work with each other.
If a privacy service need trust, then logically it is not trust-able anymore.
A trust-able privacy service, doesn’t require consumers, to trust them with the encryption key.
Because consumers should be the one who hold the key.
The trust they need are to protect the encrypted data from loss and corruption.

Another example: Like a fox guarding a henhouse.

I read somewhere it is about trusting a data mining and advertising company to hold our data and privacy.
