Pi-Hole, some guides and maybe discussion?

Pihole saved my browsing while Firefox addons were down, I guess members of this forum are familiar with it so I’m going to share some guides and how to expand your blocklists.

PiHole DNS over HTTPS (DoH, using cloudflared) : https://scotthelme.co.uk/securing-dns-across-all-of-my-devices-with-pihole-dns-over-https-1-1-1-1/

PiHole DNS over TLS (DoT, using unbound): https://bartonbytes.com/posts/configure-pi-hole-for-dns-over-tls/

Blocklists, here you can find them, and also generate them for your needs (blocked pornsites etc): https://firebog.net/

Importing blocklists: While logged in to raspberry pi type;
sudo vim /etc/pihole/adlists.list
save and exit edited file, when done run pihole -g to make pihole refresh your blocklist.

Feel free to add suggestions and guides, I know there is Wireguard option on Pi, but didn’t try it myself.

Cloudfare DNS has issues with www.archive.is. It’s not clear who is at fault, but the point is archive.is doens’t work with Cloudfare DNS.

To get pi-hole to fallback to Google DNS (or another DNS provider) execute the following commands on your pi-hole linux device:

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cat /etc/dnsmasq.d/60-archiveis.conf
server=/archive.today/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.is/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.li/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.fo/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.vn/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.md/8.8.8.8
server=/archive.ph/8.8.8.8

Thanks to zaarn for this info.
