Opinion | Google’s Sundar Pichai: Privacy Should Not Be a Luxury Good

Funny how he says Google search works the same for everyone, while in reality it gives everyone its own unique search bubble.

I stopped reading halfway through the article.

It sounded like a generic PR text. He is just checking off the usual talking points. I could have written that opinion piece and I don’t even work at Google.

source or more info on this? i haven’t heard about this

not to answer for blacklight, but for me it’s a no-brainer to guess that “unique search bubble” is along the lines of-

*geolocation influenced results, for one.

*another is that wonderful uid that follows folks around with guaranteed relevant advertisements and search with near perfect top ten results tailored made for the one searching.

ps. no sources to quote, just my baseless&biased sneaking suspicions ;p
