Is Knoppix a good way to run untrusted applications?

Question: Is Knoppix a good way to run untrusted applications?
Longer Description: Occasionally I have to run some proprietary piece of software for my job or some event or something.

I usually sandbox it in a VM, but sometimes you need access to WIFI cards or USB and it is easier to just run it on “bare metal”.

I have started looking into Knoppix and the OS works really well.
TL;DR Is Knoppix a good OS for untrusted applications?
Do I need to execute some commands to bar software from accessing my actual SSD/HDD?

Threat Model: My threat model is pretty simple, I don’t want these apps to have any access to my drives. Not necessarily saying that they are malicious.

Not sure what Knoppix is, but i’m curious what people think about Firejail for this purpose. It is also my suggestion.
