Comptia security+

Hello Everyone

I am not sure if this forum is the right place for this question. But privacy is a part of information Technology Security.

I would like to take the comptia security+ exam.

Does anyone have that certification? If so What is the best way to prepare for the exam, what experience have you gained Do you have any tips for me?

regards

Hi, we list general tips regarding certifications here: https://infosec-handbook.eu/blog/infosec-career/#certification

You can find many tips for CompTIA certifications on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/CompTIA/, especially recommendations for training material like books and online courses. “Learning by doing” should be top priority.

Be aware that the certificate will be updated this November to SY0-601. So there will be new training material and differing content. This means you should either try to quickly learn for 501 and take the exam, or you should wait for new material and take 601 later this year.

thanks for your quick response.
I will definitely prepare for the SY0-601 exam

I am currently faced with a big question: Should I buy the expensive learning material from compTIA or should I learn with the help of Linkedin Learning, Reddit, books and the internet.

Some time ago I completed module 263 (PDF only in German) at school, how much do these skills help me?

Thanks and best regards
