Can Firefox be optimised to run as smooth as something like Brave?

I hate to admit that I used Brave for quite some time now (like a few months maybe), but the reason for that is that Firefox can be rather sluggish at times. It’s not super optimised even though I have 8 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 5 processor.

I’m currently using Firefox though, trying to use it much more than Brave, but I need to know whether there’s a way to improve Firefox’s performance or not. I mean, I can definitely live with slight lack of performance, but I prefer having a smoother experience, just like with Brave. (One example is on Discord’s login screen, the animation skips frames.)

Also, I discovered by setting network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy to 2 (or even 1), it makes some pictures not load at all (like on Pixiv, where pictures don’t load at all, for example). So I keep it at 0. Same for network.http.referer.XOriginTrimmingPolicy.

I hope this doesn’t come out as a stupid question or anything. Also hello! I’m new here.

Brave is based on Chromium and almost the entire web at this point is pretty much optimized for Chromium (like in the original internet explorer days) so all Mozilla can do is catch up.

That’s a fair point actually… What a shame. I am def rooting for Firefox to catch up to Oogle (just not do the same thing Oogle does, which everyone here knows, I’m certain).

sad to agree with you, the internet loves more chrome

Try changing network.http.referer.trimmingpolicy to 2 or 1

Brave has already again sync end2end encrypted of opened tabs/bookmarks etc between devices ?

How does Dissenter compare to Brave?

Yes, I used it some days ago and it was working
